Since July, 2001, Federal Law has required all dealers to provide their credit customers with a written Privacy Disclosure.
The government's model form has been completely revamped. A simple “fill in the blanks” – “one size fits all” - standard form just won’t work. Individual dealers must examine their own operations and credit information sharing practices in order to create a Privacy Disclosure that’s tailored to their operations and information sharing practices.
When is the new form required?
The new Privacy Form can be used now. It must be in use no later than January 1, 2011. Dealers that continue to use the old Initial Privacy Notice (#16) after January 1, 2011 will lose safe harbor protection until the new form is in use.
How can ADAMM help?
